Acquaseria is charming and well serviced lakefront village offering some authentic & traditional bars, a great little Pizzeria and a patisserie as well as easy routes along the main lakeside road to the many attractions and beautiful resort towns of Lake Como.
The village is one of 20 hamlets (known in Italian as Frazioni) in the commune of San Siro, situated just north of Menaggio along the desirable central western shore and a place boasting an ancient history which visitors are welcome to explore as well as miles of lakeside and mountain walks to enjoy. Visitors can visit the ancient Sant’Abbondio church, the original little church of Acquaseria as well as the more opulent S. Maria Assunta in the nearby hamlet of S. Abbondio. The pretty lakeside village of Rezzonico, also part of San Siro, has strong Roman origins and boasts in amongst its charming cobbled passageways a series of medieval guard gates, a 14th Century castle once owned by the powerful Delle Torre family, a breathtaking lakefront piazza and a lovely public beach. At the weekends the vibrant Passion Club, situated approximately 5 minutes from Rezzonico centre is open in the evenings and is ideal for teenagers and young adults. In the surrounding area visitors can also enjoy a wide variety of activities including hiking, mountain biking, chartered yacht excursions from Nobiallo, kayaking from the Menaggio hostel, tennis lessons in Loveno and a round of Golf at the famous Menaggio & Cadenabbia Golf Club. Water sports are also popular to the north of the lake with kite surfing and boating schools in nearby Cremia and Gravedona. Menaggio is situated just a 7 minutes drive away along the lake road and offers a wide variety of local and visitor amenities including bars, cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, delicatessens, a large public Lido with swimming pools, volleyball and beach, charming lake view piazzas, boutique shops, and parks. | |
